I always Love Al Pacinos Speech in "Any Given Sunday"It epitomises THE SWOOSH0018 CHARITY FUN DAY & FOUNDATION.I know I published this before but I have to do it again.I was told to make a speech. I wasn't prepared. BUT NOW I HAVE WROTE MY SPEECH.
This SPEECH IS DEDICATED TO THE CREW OF THE SWOOSH0018 CHARITY FOUNDATION, MY PARTNERS DIADORA, MY SPONSORS, AND EVERY ONE OF YOU THAT SUPPORTED THIS SPECIAL DAY. There's too many names to Mention.Here either we yield as a team or we will crumble as individuals,inch by inch, play by play till we finish.We in hell right now,believe me.
And we can stay here and get the sh#t kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell.One Inch at a time
Now I cant do it for you.I'm too old (lol) look around and I see all these young faces and I made a few wrong choices a guy can make. I pissed away all my time in the past believe it or not,I chased off everyone thats ever loved me and lately I look at myself in the mirror and stare. What is it that I have to do to make that difference I always wanted to make
BECAUSE WE KNOW, WHEN WE ADD UP ALL THOSE INCHES THAT MAKES THE F#4ken DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING ......BETWEEN LIVING AND DYING
I tell you that, in any fight its the person thats willing to die who's gonna win that Inch and I know If im going to have any life any more Im STILL willing to fight and die for that Inch Because thats what living is ....The six inches in front of your face
THATS A TEAM GUYS AND EITHER WE YIELD NOW AS A TEAM OR WE WILL DIE AS INDIVIDUALS.THATS LIFE GUYS, THATS ALL IT IS.THATS ALL IT REALLY IS.
AND WE DID IT. WE FREAKIN DID IT

And you will see that the people that we making a difference for Will die for that inch and they will die for you for that Inch.They are blind, they have Cancer, they have disabilities. They cant do what we can do. They want to do what we fail to do.
I honestly didnt know how this day was gonna turn out. I mean its the first time my crew attempted a feat of this magnitude. We are still small, trying everyday
So at the end I said if only 20 people get there and I with my own hand I give R x amount of money in a kids hand I have achieved that Inch................that is what We were striving For
And on this day I was overwhelmed with the support we received. PEOPLE CAME TO THE PARTY
This is what I said before the event!
"All Im SAYING that on this day If we Just Give an Inch,Or make an Inch of a difference to Someones life then we have succeeded. In all honesty Im not worried about Who Comes and Who Doesnt or who buys or gives for Charity.Yes I would appreciate every effort.
Sports as I said is the Universal Language,It unites people, It unites Cultures and races. I love this speech from Al Pacino in "Any Given Sunday"Why ?Its because with the Charity Foundation Life is a Game of Inches. And we will die JUST TO GIVE THAT EXTRA INCH.
So no matter what race,culture or religion we come from We will watch the back of the next person as they will watch your's.
And no matter what happens on this day I promise you all That I will be the first man to set foot on this hallowed ground AND I WILL BE THE LAST MAN TO LEAVE AND WE WILL LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND................................................................................................
BUT IF WE MAKE AN INCH OF A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONES LIFE. WE HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MY BOOK

Now for the Thanks.Geez where do I start. Too many people to thank. Let me start. In any event its the Unsung Heroes that deserves the first THANK YOU. THE BIGGEST THANK YOU. I want to say a special THANK YOU to The Newly appointed president of Swoosh0018.com FARIED SALOOJEE. I mean this man never left my back. He stuck with me through Thick and Thin and his hard work and dedication made this EVENT what it was. A Thank you is just not good enough. Following him closely was his wife Yumna and Ebie Jay and Mohamed Kaloo. We often forget the planning,The checklists, the buying, the Salads, The designated orders, the Logistics, The Unsung heroes that work behind the scenes all the Time and make sure Everything is organised for the guests. Shazo chipped in with the shopping on Saturday. I mean Words are not powerful Enough to THANK THESE GUYS. 
Secondly A Big THANK YOU TO DIADORA SOUTH AFRICA for the supply of the t-shirts and Caps that was the engine Room for raising the Funds. Not only did Diadora SA produce quality gear but their assistance and drive for this event was astounding. They went out of their way from the GET GO.
Also a BIG THANK YOU TO Yusuf "Joe" Dindar. What can I say Joe. I met Joe when I was on about 25 hits a day. Joe emailed me at least once a week and never stopped backing me. Yusuf also played a big role in my Synergy with Diadora SA. Thank you Yusuf Dindar for your assistance and making things happen for Swoosh0018.com. On a personal scale Joe has motivated me to make this brand what it is today. We will hit the BIG TIME JOE. And a big THANK you for your support on this day and for the synergy

And there was a host of people that were doing the same duties. The Crew of Swoosh0018 and volunteers to sell the Tshirts and donating the money to cater for the guests, crew and orphans and disadvantaged kids
THEN A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO Fatima Cassim, Aunty "Sally" Khota and Shakeerah Khota for Supervising and catering for 12 orphans as well as the transport. Also Aunty Sally,Thanks for making the salads. I mean you just have to take your HAT off here, These two went out of their way to bring these special guests to the event and to look after them. I mean ..This is special. A menton goes also to two lads called Junaid & Pits. Also in that magical R8000 blitz we thank the following “The Khota’s” (Ubaidiyyah, Aatiqah, Naeem, Fati).Also Thanks to Bibi and Burhaan Patel for bringing the rolls for the event.
Thank you to A-Wear Wholesalers for supplying the truck to enable us to get everything to the Zoo Lake. Without this we were stuffed. Thank you to Theba's Function and hire for the supply of the Marquee and tables and chairs.
Also I want to make mention to each member who contributed his allocated funds to the cause.This kitty got us going. You know who you are.

Then there is a special THANK YOU again to the troops that went on a PUNT and raised over R8000 in an hour. they walked the Zoo lake to get money for Charity and raise brand awreness for Swoosh0018 and Diadora. These Troops were led by Faried & Yumna again,Ebie & Fadila and Mohamed Kaloo and a lad they call Naeem (L.C),& Faaiz Oz, Yousuf "THE SWAAR" Kadwa and many others like the Vahzerz Lity's, Azra & Zahier, Junaid and Pits, Shakeerah Khota & Fati. I take my hats off to you. And I thank You
Thanks too Waseem Koor for keeping the Thunnie Sector alive. Even though we cancelled the tournament , Waseem and Bilal Punisher put on an exhibition and played a IZZET CHALLENGE, WITS legends vs NEW tukkies lads . Im sure they put their comments and give us some feedback. THEY PUNISHED THESE TWO LAUDIUM LADS that came to play THUNNIE

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST Im sure the whole team and myself TAKE OUR HAT OFF TO THIS MAN. UNCLE ASHRAF, known as GYPSY. I mean what this guy did for the day,none of us can emulate, and his twice our age,well almost. In life sometimes there are some people that are so gifted and commanded and are blessed with a HEART OF GOLD THAT NO ONE DARES COME CLOSE TO THEM. They are low profile guys that shy away from the limelight. They are not the men in flashy suits that go up to the podium or the Generals that give the orders and scoop the awards. They are the GRUNTS in the field. He epitomises the phrase "WHAT THE RIGHT HAND DOES THE LEFT DOESNT KNOW! This guy is the unsung heroe of LENZ. This guy is willing to die TO WIN THAT INCH. This guy is at every charity EVENT THERE IS. This Guy WILL GO THAT INCH WITH YOU. This guy is what AL PACINOS Speech in this video is all about. THIS GUY you find at 12'0 clock at night directing traffic during the funerals. This is the guy that switches that generator off when you leave the graveyard.This guy is the guy that you will find walking with a Michrophone and raising Money and dancing and singing with the aunties. THIS IS THE GUY that has made a difference to so many shattered dreams. This is a guy that doesnt SLEEP. This is the HERO of the Community and certainly our MAN OF THE SERIES. YOU TELL ME WHERE DO YOU FIND PEOPLE LIKE THIS ANY MORE. UNCLE GYPSY on behalf of Swoosh0018 and MY TEAM WE SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO YOU.
To Conclude I will give you three accounts of WHY myself and my team started the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation and this are real life experiences...AND JUST MAYBE these three experiences will MAKE US GIVE BACK
1. Being Muslim and fasting in the month of Ramadan I went with some friends who everyday used to buy 250 chiprolls And give to the Hungry and The Needy
On one occasion we went to a school where there were about 100 kids waiting to break fast.
When we reached the venue we were mobbed by 100 kids as if were celebs or something. I looked in awe at kids that were mainly orphans, in tattered clothes.
Now again on the one end lay a mat with dates and water. I looked up against a wall and there stood a girl barely 2 or three years old. Green eyes, brown hair, staring at me, the thousand yard stare. I immediately thought of my neice who was at home.I thought they the same age. Except that my niece sat a table with a five course meal and ten flavours of cold drinks. What if that were my neice.What THEN. How would I feel
I realised that when I left Id have the same 10 course meal.
And thats when I said that I will die trying to one day give that Inch.
2. Being a sportsman I represented the Wits University Tennis B team on a few occations.
At one stage we were called upon to assist in tennis coaching for kids that suffered from Down Syndrome. They were gearing up for the Special Olympics.
Again here we are on the other end,perfectly healthy yet often discontent. Maybe I speak for myself.
Across the Net you see individuals that are clawing for that inch.You see kids happy knowing that somebody bothered to take time out and play Tennis with them. You see their desire and passion to succeed. They made us feel like we on the ATP tour
And when you look into their eyes knowing that they'd die for that inch.
You know you made the difference
3. A month ago there was a three year old kid in my family that was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and bladder. Three..... Just three years old.
Now we hear these cases time and time again. But when it happens before your eyes You see what the kid goes through. You see the plight of the parents. You look at the mother next to you and you see that she will die for that extra inch. You see her crying knowing clearly that all the aspirations YOU AND I have or will have has eluded her.You see the kid coming back from ChemoTherapy spewing her guts out.She doesnt know what lies ahead
On the opposite side I see my other nieces and nephews all perfectly healthy.Their whole life ahead of them. Then I switch back to see the other side.
This three year old kid returning from Chemotherapy which makes you even sicker than the cancer. I say again only three years old
And this is one of the reasons why I will claw for that inch AND TRY AND FAIL BUT NEVER FAIL TO TRY.

THATS WHY ON THIS DAY AND NIGHT 2ND DECEMBER 2007 I know that I ,MY TEAM AND EVERONE PRESENT ON THIS DAY PUT FOOTABALL AND SPORTS ASIDE TO STRIVE FOR THAT INCH. THAT EXTRA DIFFERENCE THAT WILL PUT A SMILE ON SOME LITTLE AILING KIDS FACE.
WHAT A NIGHT.EVERY OUNCE OF HARD WORK WE PUT IN FELT GREAT.THE TEAM WERE PHONING ME AND SMSING ME.WE ARE BUZZING. I dont know about my team BUT FLIP IT MAN, TONIGHT I GO TO SLEEP PROBABLY FEELING THE BEST EMOTION IVE EVER FELT IN YEARS.
WE JUST DID IT. WE SPILT THE SAME BLOOD IN THE SAME MUD
So overall the EVENT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS. We hope to be better and bigger next time. So from the bottom of my Heart I thank you all.
