The Swoosh0018 returned to Ethembeni Baby Orphanage and Thanks to the wonderful contrubutions from Leyya Kalla we were able to put plenty smiles on these kids faces.There were toys,teddy bears,balloons and lots more in the hampers. What can I say..It was great to be back at Ethembeni and to see the kids. They yearn for attention as after all they are orphans,9 % HIV. And as usual as part of our mission was great to see the Smiles. We will be back and continue with PROJECT HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH.

DOOR OF HOPE BABY ORPHANAGE

Its amazing you know. More often than not you always hear stories about abandoned babies...Babies that have been left out in the cold,abandoned in toilets,parks and rubbish bins. Yo can never seem to fathom why someone would do such a thing. With the aid of Crystyl Snyman from CCPRO Model and Talent Agency and two enthusiastic youn volunteers we were inspired to visit the Door of Hope Baby Orphanage which houses +_ 30 babies from the age of 0 to a year. Yes these babies are orphans and they are just tiny little babies. Door of Hope takes care of these babies on a day to day basis and hats off to teh staff and volunteers that see to their needs on a daily basis. Volunteers come from as far as USA and UK to assits these babies. And with our visit and tour we soon discovered the gargantoeus task that they endure. Food,Clothes, Medical care are just to name a few. But on the whole it was an amazing experience and Thanks to all involved.We will certainly be returning to the Door Of Hope in the Future

VALENTINES DAY AT JHB GENERAL CANCER WARD FOR KID

On Saturday the Swoosh0018 Team spent the afternoon of Valentines day at the JHB General Cancer ward for kids. Now I'm gonna give you my version of this visit. It was really emotional ,sad but yet full filling to see some smiles when we gave every kid and mum a feathered scented rose for Valentines day. The Swoosh0018 CF really appreciated the warmth and hospitality showed by the staff of that ward. We then embarked on meeting every kid. We were not allowed to take any pictures of the kids. The first room we went to housed kids that were +_3 years of age all diagnosed with stomach and brain cancer. Yet when we arrived there with just roses a little girl lay with a severe case of brain cancer. She clutched the rose and kept it next to her the whole time, smiling.

We asked the nurse whats wrong, coz whilst we there she kept screaming. The nurse said that she seems to be in allot of pain. My heart went out. Across the bed lay a boy of three diagnosed with stomach cancer. As we made our way toward the end of the room there was a little girl sitting all by herself. She was four I think. She had all blisters on her mouth which were were told was a result of the chemo. She too was diagnosed with stomach cancer. And to be honest I don't think she had a clue of what her condition was ,yet she clutched the rose dearly.It was really sad to see them suffering and we were only in the first room.As we made our way through the ward we visited every kid ,most of them with a severe case of cancer, Kidney, Liver,stomach There were even some kids with a rare form of cancer where their legs had to be amputated because of this cancer. As we were walking through the passage we seen this two year old kid walking with a drip and he had just returned from an operation. he was diagnosed with cancer of the Liver. Then there was a baby of three months that was awaiting a possible diagnosis of cancer in the brain. For me personally it was amazing to see the fight in them. The smiles, the Will to survive and stay alive despite their condition and surroundings and yet they have not even begun the course of life.You look into their eyes, and you see this distinctive message. "Beyond this sickness lies immortality, Take it for its yours"Our hopes and prayers lie with these kids , their families and friends. We wish them a speedy recovery and the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation will do its utmost to make their pain and anguish lesser.

To me they are an inspiration to shake the small trials and tribulations that plague us everyday And they have the will to survive

The Swoosh0018 Charity Team met a family that really made me sit back and think.
Look for Obvious reasons I wont go into detail but this mum and her kids ,5 of them were so down to earth and gave us a warm reception. Swoosh0018 CF assisted these kids and they are are the Swooshing for a Dream Recipients for January.

These kids are sweet, warm and in need of assistance in many ways. The Swoosh0018 CF in conjunction with A-Wear Wholesalers (Faaiz Oz and them) contributed School Uniforms and school tracksuits to these kids. Their names are Mukhtar, Hajira, Tahira,Mohamed Zakarya, Nabilah and Fatima
They were so appreciative.
As I said they are in need of any assistance. Clothes, Toys etc.

We contributed some money and clothes to this project. The project was facilitated by Adele Segal from the POINT OF A DIFFERENCE Charity Foundation. The Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation contributed some money, clothing hampers, A Euro 2008 Adidas soccer ball and Debonairs Pizza to the Madresah Ihyaa id-Deen Madresah and Orphanage in Lenasia. The contact details are on the group. The orphanage houses 12 boys from 3-13 years. They are in need of anything, clothes, food hampers and finance to construct a better organisation and infrastructure. Again it was an amazing experience to see the smile on these kids faces when we went in.
Again Thank you to everyone that contributed to the foundation by donations, buying T shirts and caps and donating hampers at our Drop off Points.

Tonight i just wish to share with my members one of the projects we working on and trying to make crossroads and something I have experienced. As I said on my foundation I will write and be myself.

My intention is not to be disturbing or offensive to anyone.We embarking on this project to assist burnt Children.

Recently I checked out this Burnt home for kids. Now Ive been asked by some. Swoosh! How do you handle these situations. Fair Enough its reality and not for the faint hearted or soft people..whatever, But lemme continue.

Im 31 now and Heck Ive seen life, lived life.seen the best of the best,the worst of the Worst but nothing prepared me for this. You know personally I have suffered setbacks,been knocked down and I used to ask myself, Why me. Its human nature. Often in life as human beings we become disgruntled and discontent.We always want more...or maybe I speak for myself.

Anyways lemme continue. So we went to this Burnt Unit.And I seen this kid.She must have been three. No this is not her pic. But there she stood. Alone ,,,,,,burnt to the bone. She was only three.

Her face was so badly burnt that I could just see her eyes,,,two holes to breath and her mouth...Jeez she was only three.Between you and I.....I stumbled out of the room for a while and there are those wakeful moments when you just put all the phoniness of life behind you. There is that time when all the crud of this world fades away.You stare into the mirror of reality for once. You sweep your problems aside in an instant, Your eyes get filled with tears and your heart feels heavy. You become grateful that God has given you the strength to make a difference to this little kid. And again When you see a person in this disposition smile..........You weep from inside.Where does she go...
What does she look forward to in life. I bet that she'd kill to be you and bare the burden of your petty problems which at any given point you see as major.Wouldn't she?

And then you see that will in her eyes.That will to Survive. It reminds me of a scene in last of the mohicans. When he says...No matter where you go I will find You"You stay alive you hear me.No matter how long it takes, No matter how Far, You don't ever quit..You strive to survive, You stay alive and no matter you go I will find you,even if it takes a thousand years.In context,,You feel helpless...But you say TO YOURSELF...that I will come back and I will find you and help you and we will try together to make a Difference ....And that's Reality...So the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation will find you...And we will make that difference even if it takes a thousand years trying,That's our intention.So with your support and assistance we can do this. IL keep you posted on the developments of this project

Another moment Id like to share with you is my visit to the Johannesburg General Cancer Ward. The plan here is Swoosh0018 CF are going in with sweets and party packs to share some smiles. We still working on it...waiting for permission to Execute OPERATION CANDY LAND. So will keep you posted. My visit entailed a visit of the ward and got to meet a few kids. So we we will dream , we will dream of you and Swoosh0018 will try their utmost best to make your dreams come true. So please everyone we need your support. Again I have lost a few people close to me through Cancer. I'm not gonna go there.But I can tell you one thing, I had a feel of the journey.Chemo supposed to make you feel better right, instead it makes you feel more ill. Now when a normal kid just has the flu.......they need to be cheered up. They need to smile. They need that support because for them its a mundane routine of being always sick. That one smile can change sadness. It can change and alter that horrid day. Thats what the Swoosh0018 CF aims to do...We gonna go there and share some smiles....We gonna go there and make an inch of a difference.

Because there's a chance that these little kids can close their eyes and never wake Up

THE ZANELE CHILDRENS HOME-THE RETURN LEG

All the kids and Linda, after they recieved the Swoosh Chocolates and parcels that we brought them

Now this room, is used during the day to keep kids safe whilst their guardians are away. It so happened that kids that were left at home during the day were raped and murdered. So a Day Care centre was created.

Now this Granny was brought to Zanele Childrens Home because there was no one to look after her. She was found burned in a shack and is almost blind

Just by Giving out chocolates, there was great spirits. Just Chocolates and Well obviously there was Joy from what we collected for OPERATION HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH

What a smile brings. Thats why Thank You all for Supporting our Foundation. Together we can do things. These are orphans,some HIV orphans

As many of you know that the kids from the Zanele Childrens home were present at the Charity Fun Day. So first of all a BIG THANK you to all the People that have left items at The Swoosh0018 Collection Points at Adega Fordsburg and MTN Freeway Cellular in Lenz.Thank you to our Swooshing It Up Collection Points . Also Thank you to Arnaaz Mohamed for Swooshing it up and Collecting for us in Brits. And lastly Thank you to all that have dropped of items at my house.Too many people to Mention.

Now this is why its so rewarding when all our Collective efforts are executed.Let me tell you about the Zaneli Childrens Home.Its situated in Finetown which is in between Lenasia South and Ennerdale. Our Members Shakira Khota and Co set up the Integration and Well we went for the Drop Off. Myself and Firaz Ahmed. We were greeted by Linda who is the caretaker of this orphanage that houses kids from 3 years to 18 years. Recently they have been the home to a Granny who has no family and was burned in a shack.

She is also partially Blind.At the moment the facility houses +_ 20 kids some of whom are HIV positive.So we took whatever we collected, which was an array of beautiful clothing, used clothes, Food and Toys and distributed it to the Home. We also gave each girl a Swoosh Rose Chocolate and we gave each boy a assortment of Swoosh Chocolates.Linda and the Kids were so gracious that She said "Your team are like Angels on our Shoulders, May God Bless you."I said "No Linda, May God bless you for what you are doing for these kids."

But the pictures tell it all and Once Again to see the excitement on the kids and the smiles when we brought the stuff , Our Mission was successful. They are in Dire need people, Really, look at the Pics and we will be assisting them wherever we can. We then received a tour of the facility from Linda and THE TOUR WILL BE EXPLAINED WHEN THE PICS ARE UPLOADED

Well As I said.Swoosh0018 made a promise that they will return to the Crescent haven orphanage in Lenasia to drop of some Chocolates and a EURO 2008 Adidas matchball for the boys. As I always said the mission of the Swoosh0018 CHARITY FOUNDATION is to make and inch of a difference and by just putting that smile on a kids face is "Mission Accomplished". Here is a picture of a few girls that remained behind at the orphanage due to the school holidays. We gave each of them a small box of chocolates branded in Swoosh colors and for the girls roses made out of chocolates

Here I am on behalf of the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation and presenting an official Euro 2008 Matchball to the young lads. Most of them were not there because during the holidays families from other areas take them away, just to get a break from the orphanage.They were thrilled

Ok, Now this is what I mean when I say that the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation will do everything to put a smile ,even if it is for a moment on a little kids face. This young boy has featured before and is my Little cousin Mohamed Tamim. He has Cerebral Palsy. And he was overjoyed upon receiving a chocolate and a ball. I must say for me personally its the most awesome feeling in the world when I know that the foundation is growing and making crossroads. To see these kids smile, you realise the input and support from every person past and present that have contributed to our foundation and without their input it wouldn't be possible for us to make little kids dreams come true

Mohamed Tamim attends a school in Forest Town that specifically caters for kids with these types of conditions. I have made the contact and we have received the green light to go ahead and execute OPERATION YUM YUM. This operation will entail giving kids like this Sweets and Candy hampers, chocolates etc....To put a smile on their faces and make them forget for that moment of the hardships and sadness

XENOPHOBEA-TIME TO SWOOSH IT UP

We are all aware of the Xenophobic attacks that have engulfed us recently. This is where Swoosh0018's Charity Foundation comes in. With the assistance of Swoosh0018's Zahira Kharsany who wrote the piece below and many other organisations OPERATION HEAVEN IS A PLACE ON EARTH and WINTER OUT will now shift a gear and We will be assisting the Refugee Camps, Homeless and more importantly the Kids who have suffered. We have already begun distributing Toys, Clothes, Blankets and Food. So please if You have anything you would like to contribute Please email me , phone me or drop it off by the Swoosh Collection Points, which will be ready by Wednesday

So any clothes, toys food or whatever these people need, we will strive to provide

These last two weeks have been the most agonising one that I have experienced in ages. I turned to journalism for the reason that presented itself in the last week. Xenophobic attacks, displaced people, pure utter thuggery all in my own back yard. I would never have thought it possible. I honestly thought one day I would be travelling to OTHER African countries to cover stories like this.

Now I get to cover it without stepping off my door step…

Makes you wonder --- doesn’t it?

These same people who think its okay to beat up innocent people need to take a look at what they really trying to achieve with their nonsense.

I mean – do people know that this has been the first necklacing (where people are burnt to death by a tire round their neck) since Apartheid – almost 20 years ago!!!!!

Has South Africa lost its soul?

There are many reasons as to why this seems to be happening and even though it may have started as Xenophobia its honestly changed to something worse -- feels amazingly evil. When have you ever seen Johannesburg city dead at night???Never!!! But its become like a ghost town of late. Mobs of youngsters inciting violence and also just looting for the fun and sake of it. That to me is definitely not Xenophobia.

I went to the refugee camps and I was brought to tears to see young children who have been born and schooled in South Africa asking “Why is this happening?” with the heaviest South African accent I have heard. Innocents with the only fault that their parents are not from South Africa. “Can you brings us chocolates and biscuits and colouring books when you come again?”

That’s all they ask for even though they are now living with out a roof over their heads!!!! In make shift tents in the grounds of Jeppe Police Station they stay with their mothers and other children, while their fathers or older male siblings stay in the cold under the night stars.

Huddled together for warmth I find a group of Zimbabwean blind people who are in dire need, as what ever blankets that were distributed they were forgotten about in the ensuing stampede. They are blind they cannot reach the people handing blankets out -- they are the forgotten!!! When do we ever turn on the disabled????? I read a letter written by them to the South African people --- do you know what they say --- They THANK us for allowing them to beg to gain a little money!!!! They Thank us!??!?!?!?!? Do we not get it?!??!?!?

There’s a group of people dancing and singing praising the Lord… they don’t do it because they happy, they do it because they hope something better comes from it…they do it so that they can find a way to stay warm…they do it because there is nothing else they can do while they wait for help.

Given only four slices of bread for the day these people are starving, destitute and with the weather conditions the way they are at present most likely to freeze to death.

In life, EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE LOVED, What is life without Love. At the end of the day when you go to bed at night, You know that the love shown to you by the closest person in your life is what makes you close you eyes and dream"

Swoosh0018.com visited the Ethembeni Childrens home on Saturday. Myself, Zaheera, Raeesa and Sameer conducted an initial visit and took them some clothes and toys. Make no mistake we will be back there in two months time.If you look at my intro,makes you wonder perhaps. But hey as I said I speak my mind. We all know that to be loved is the greatest feeling in the world, Heck i know, Ive been there, Some of us are there and we all know that the special fuzzy feeling inside of your belly by the closest person to you, be it your parents, your girlfriend, your wife or even your kids is probably the greatest sensation that you will ever feel.

When you know that there is somebody out there thats constantly watching your back, thats constantly out there to hold you when you down, thats constantly out there to nurse you when you sick and thats constantly out there to put their arms around you and kiss you gently when you are asleep."You want somebody who will stand by your side and give you support. Somebody who will share the rest of your life, your innermost thoughts and your intimate details. Now from a personal stand point and my feelings, It was so sad to see so many babies out there, They hugged the team, fell asleep in their arms and never wanted us to leave. The babies Eyes said it all, Unbelievable, You had to be there to see it. And I tell you guys, the staff are doing an amazing job, God bless them, But these kids will turn three and then be moved to a different house.

Thats why my point about individual love. They and many others need it all the time. I look at my nephew and my friends and families kids, They have love, These kids will never have parents and you know as a parent your child completes you. For instance there was this kid Musa......in the room housing 6-12 month kids. He layed there in his cot on all fours, Smiling all the time, Everytime we came back he was smiling....Then next door in the same age group there was this kid Tandile, The guy was high fiving me from his cot, I noticed that he had a scar underneath his chin...So i naturally enquired. He underwent an op when he was six months old.....Now fathom this, You undergo an Op, You a baby, What awaits you , No Mum with hot Food, No family............Theres more, A month ago they found a baby in a toilet, abandoned...then they found a baby in the park...............

Il say it openly on my site, My main ambition is to protect and help kids that have been abused physically and sexually. I will die trying to protect this world from such a nightmare...Recently we reviewed 3 cases of abuse , both sexual and physical to kids. They have no one to turn to, and my foundation will die trying to make their world a better place..And I pray every night that kids in the future will not have to experience such torment And whats so sad is they are so small, little Mohammed Alis, chubby boys, small girls playing with Dolls. I and my team will try to make an inch of a difference to these cute babies. I will die trying................And we will try to make heaven a place on earth

Ethembeni Chlidrens home came into being in 1995 due to the need to accommodate abandoned HIV/AIDS infected and affected babies. It provides care for up to 60 children from birth to 3 years. All Children in need of care are admitted irrespective of their health status. Children who have been abandoned, removed from abusive situations or removed from carers who are not able to adequately meet the needs of a child, are placed at Ethembeni by the Commissioner of Child Welfare. Ethembeni is very fortunate to have the services of volunteers who provide formal professional age appropriate stimulatory programs throughout the week.Over the past four years, Ethembeni has transformed its services to the children in its care by involving volunteers more efficiently, effectively introducing stimulatory programs, promoting and encouraging shorter periods of residency for the children by assisting to have children returned to their communities, foster or adoptive parents and enduring a regular income by renting out a portion of the building

Ok, We have launched the SWOOSH'ING it up campaign and we welcome Adega Fordsburg and Shahid Osmany as the first guy to Swoosh it up. Now Swooshing it up is not advertising. Its about the Charity Foundation. Its about that organisation that is willing to go to extra lengths for the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation. Its about an organisation, group or company that's willing to race for Charity and make an inch of a difference.

So with Adega Fordsburg , we going to place a collection basket , So its one of the first collection points for the Swoosh0018 Foundation. In this basket it will be advertised to drop in clothes, toys, blankets etc. Then we come in and after a month we distribute.

Swoosh0018 Team member Shakeera Khota. at the Zanele Childrens Home in Finetown. Swoosh0018 gave a large chunk to this Orphanage which has about about 150 kids. Sometimes they feed up to a 1000 kids. Now this orphanage boasts kids from the age of 6 months to 15 years of age. AND Most of them are HIV/AIDS Orphans.This orphanage people is in Dire Need. Anything, Clothes, Money, Food. CRESCENT HAVEN ORPHANAGE- LENASIA

The Crescent Haven Orphanage is in Lenasia. Made up of about 30 kids both boys and girls. They were so amazed when I got there taking pictures and videos. Thank you guys and we have made a difference. I tell you for me going there was hard. It gives you perspective of Life. And we will continue to support them. What was interesting was I asked the kids in the video below about football and sports....

a few of them loved the MANCS LOL.

And we can stay here and get the sh#t kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell.One Inch at a time
Now I cant do it for you.I'm too old (lol) look around and I see all these young faces and I made a few wrong choices a guy can make. I pissed away all my time in the past believe it or not,I chased off everyone thats ever loved me and lately I look at myself in the mirror and stare. What is it that I have to do to make that difference I always wanted to make

You know when you get old in life.Things get taken from you.I mean thats part of life.But you only learn that when you start losing stuff.You find out Lifes this game of inches,so is giving something back.

Because in either game ,life or giving back, the margin for error is so small.I mean One half of a step too late or too early and you dont quite make it, one half of a second too slow or too fast and you cant quite catch it. The inches we need are every where around us.

They in every break of the game , every minute , every second. On this team We Fight for that inch.On this team We Tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that Inch.We claw with our fingernails for that Inch
BECAUSE WE KNOW, WHEN WE ADD UP ALL THOSE INCHES THAT MAKES THE F#4ken DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING ......BETWEEN LIVING AND DYING
I tell you that, in any fight its the person thats willing to die who's gonna win that Inch and I know If im going to have any life any more Im STILL willing to fight and die for that Inch Because thats what living is ....The six inches in front of your face

NOW I CANT MAKE YOU DO IT.LOOK AT THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU. LOOK INTO THEIR EYES AND YOU GONNA SEE A PERSON WHO WILL GO THAT INCH WITH YOU. YOU GONNA SEE A PERSON WHO WILL SACRIFICE THEMSELVES FOR THIS TEAM AND THIS DAY BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT YOU GONNA DO THE SAME FOR THEM.

THATS A TEAM GUYS AND EITHER WE YIELD NOW AS A TEAM OR WE WILL DIE AS INDIVIDUALS.THATS LIFE GUYS, THATS ALL IT IS.THATS ALL IT REALLY IS.

And you will see that the people that we making a difference for Will die for that inch and they will die for you for that Inch.They are blind, they have Cancer, they have disabilities. They cant do what we can do. They want to do what we fail to do.
I honestly didnt know how this day was gonna turn out. I mean its the first time my crew attempted a feat of this magnitude. We are still small, trying everyday
So at the end I said if only 20 people get there and I with my own hand I give R x amount of money in a kids hand I have achieved that Inch................that is what We were striving For

And on this day I was overwhelmed with the support we received. PEOPLE CAME TO THE PARTY
This is what I said before the event!

"All Im SAYING that on this day If we Just Give an Inch,Or make an Inch of a difference to Someones life then we have succeeded. In all honesty Im not worried about Who Comes and Who Doesnt or who buys or gives for Charity.Yes I would appreciate every effort.

Sports as I said is the Universal Language,It unites people, It unites Cultures and races. I love this speech from Al Pacino in "Any Given Sunday"Why ?Its because with the Charity Foundation Life is a Game of Inches. And we will die JUST TO GIVE THAT EXTRA INCH.

So no matter what race,culture or religion we come from We will watch the back of the next person as they will watch your's.

And no matter what happens on this day I promise you all That I will be the first man to set foot on this hallowed ground AND I WILL BE THE LAST MAN TO LEAVE AND WE WILL LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND................................................................................................

I mean what this guy did for the day,none of us can emulate, and his twice our age,well almost. In life sometimes there are some people that are so gifted and commanded and are blessed with a HEART OF GOLD THAT NO ONE DARES COME CLOSE TO THEM. They are low profile guys that shy away from the limelight. They are not the men in flashy suits that go up to the podium or the Generals that give the orders and scoop the awards. They are the GRUNTS in the field. He epitomises the phrase "WHAT THE RIGHT HAND DOES THE LEFT DOESNT KNOW! This guy is the unsung heroe of LENZ. This guy is willing to die TO WIN THAT INCH. This guy is at every charity EVENT THERE IS. This Guy WILL GO THAT INCH WITH YOU. This guy is what AL PACINOS Speech in this video is all about. THIS GUY you find at 12'0 clock at night directing traffic during the funerals. This is the guy that switches that generator off when you leave the graveyard.This guy is the guy that you will find walking with a Michrophone and raising Money and dancing and singing with the aunties. THIS IS THE GUY that has made a difference to so many shattered dreams. This is a guy that doesnt SLEEP. This is the HERO of the Community and certainly our MAN OF THE SERIES. YOU TELL ME WHERE DO YOU FIND PEOPLE LIKE THIS ANY MORE. UNCLE GYPSY on behalf of Swoosh0018 and MY TEAM WE SAY A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO YOU.

To Conclude I will give you three accounts of WHY myself and my team started the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation and this are real life experiences...AND JUST MAYBE these three experiences will MAKE US GIVE BACK

1. Being Muslim and fasting in the month of Ramadan I went with some friends who everyday used to buy 250 chiprolls And give to the Hungry and The Needy
On one occasion we went to a school where there were about 100 kids waiting to break fast.
When we reached the venue we were mobbed by 100 kids as if were celebs or something. I looked in awe at kids that were mainly orphans, in tattered clothes.
Now again on the one end lay a mat with dates and water. I looked up against a wall and there stood a girl barely 2 or three years old. Green eyes, brown hair, staring at me, the thousand yard stare. I immediately thought of my neice who was at home.I thought they the same age. Except that my niece sat a table with a five course meal and ten flavours of cold drinks. What if that were my neice.What THEN. How would I feel
I realised that when I left Id have the same 10 course meal.
And thats when I said that I will die trying to one day give that Inch.

2. Being a sportsman I represented the Wits University Tennis B team on a few occations.
At one stage we were called upon to assist in tennis coaching for kids that suffered from Down Syndrome. They were gearing up for the Special Olympics.
Again here we are on the other end,perfectly healthy yet often discontent. Maybe I speak for myself.
Across the Net you see individuals that are clawing for that inch.You see kids happy knowing that somebody bothered to take time out and play Tennis with them. You see their desire and passion to succeed. They made us feel like we on the ATP tour
And when you look into their eyes knowing that they'd die for that inch.
You know you made the difference

3. A month ago there was a three year old kid in my family that was diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and bladder. Three..... Just three years old.
Now we hear these cases time and time again. But when it happens before your eyes You see what the kid goes through. You see the plight of the parents. You look at the mother next to you and you see that she will die for that extra inch. You see her crying knowing clearly that all the aspirations YOU AND I have or will have has eluded her.You see the kid coming back from ChemoTherapy spewing her guts out.She doesnt know what lies ahead
On the opposite side I see my other nieces and nephews all perfectly healthy.Their whole life ahead of them. Then I switch back to see the other side.
This three year old kid returning from Chemotherapy which makes you even sicker than the cancer. I say again only three years old
And this is one of the reasons why I will claw for that inch AND TRY AND FAIL BUT NEVER FAIL TO TRY.

WE JUST DID IT. WE SPILT THE SAME BLOOD IN THE SAME MUD

So overall the EVENT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS. We hope to be better and bigger next time. So from the bottom of my Heart I thank you all.

Well we getting there. Three days away. We have decided about the venue. When you go up Jan Smuts and take the Zoo Lake turn off,barely 50 meters on your Left hand side is the area with the parking lot and Big trees. We will be situated there. So far So good.

As you all know Swoosh0018.com has just launched its CHARITY FOUNDATION. Lets all get together and make this event a success. Bring & Braai. Lets all meet at the Zoo Lake and Unite. Its simple. Invite Everyone, Bring Everyone and Braai,eat,socialise. Lets get together and meet with friends Past & Present. *Bring your own Braai Stands Please.Come with your groups,friends and families.

How we aim to raise money for this cause.I will be situated in the middle.We will sell T-Shirts and other items and goodies for the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation @ R100. All proceeds will be given to Charity.We will auction of Sporting goods and hampers from my sponsors. We open to any other means of raising money for the disabled, organisations, the blind, the Hungry and the Mentally disadvantaged.So its simple.

MESSAGE TO THE SWOOSH0018 CREW, THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT THIS DAY, THE ORGANISATIONS, THE SPONSORS, THE DONORS AND THE FOREIGN GUESTS

I always Love Al Pacinos Speech in "Any Given Sunday"
It epitomises THE SWOOSH0018 CHARITY FUN DAY.So I mixed it a bit to compile a message to my Crew of Volunteers for the day and the People That Support This Event and the list above.

And when you read this ,Think of the difference we can make..............Just Maybe

"I don't know what to say really, a few minutes to the biggest battle of our lives all comes down to today.
Here either we yield as a team or we will crumble as individuals,inch by inch, play by play till we finish.We in hell right now,believe me.
And we can stay here and get the sh#t kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell.One Inch at a time
Now I cant do it for you.I'm too old (lol) look around and I see all these young faces and I made a few wrong choices a guy can make. I pissed away all my time in the past believe it or not,I chased off everyone that's ever loved me and lately I look at myself in the mirror and stare. What is it that I have to do to make that difference I always wanted to make

You know when you get old in life.Things get taken from you.I mean that's part of life.But you only learn that when you start losing stuff.You find out Lifes this game of inches,so is giving something back.

Because in either game ,life or giving back, the margin for error is so small.One half of a second too late or too early and you don't quite make it, one half of a second too slow or too fast and you cant quite catch it. The inches we need are every where around us.

They in every break of the game , every minute , every second. On this team We Fight for that inch.On this team We Tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that Inch.We claw with our fingernails for that Inch
BECAUSE WE KNOW, THAT WHEN WE ADD UP ALL THOSE INCHES THAT MAKES THE FLIPPEN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING ......AND LIVING AND DYING
I tell you that, in any fight its the person that's willing to die who's gonna win that Inch and I know If I'm going to have any life any more I'm willing to fight and die for that Inch Because that's what living is ....The six inches in front of your face

And you will see that the people that we making a difference for Will die for that inch and they will die for you for that Inch.They are blind, they have Cancer, they have disabilities. They cant do what we can do. They want to do what we fail to do.
I honestly don't know how this day is gonna turn out. I mean its the first time I'm or my crew are attempting a feat of this magnitude. We are still small trying everyday
So at the end if there only 20 people and I with my own hand give R x amount of money in someones hand I have achieved that Inch................that We striving For

THATS A TEAM GUYS. SO ON THIS FUN DAY EITHER WE ALL YIELD AS A TEAM OR WE WILL DIE AS INDIVIDUALS.
THATS LIFE GUYS.THATS ALL IT IS....................

All I'm SAYING that on this day If we Just Give an Inch,Or make an Inch of a difference to Someones life then we have succeeded. In all honesty I'm not worried about Who Comes and Who Doesn't or who buys or gives for Charity.Yes I would appreciate every effort.

Sports as I said is the Universal Language,It unites people, It unites Cultures and races. I love this speech from Al Pacino in "Any Given Sunday"Why ?Its because with the Charity Foundation Life is a Game of Inches.And I will die JUST TO GIVE THAT EXTRA INCH.

So no matter what race,culture or religion we come from We will watch the back of the next person as they will watch your's.

And no matter what happens on this day I promise you all That I will be the first man to set foot on this hallowed ground AND I WILL BE THE LAST MAN TO LEAVE AND WE WILL LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND................................................................................................

BUT IF WE MAKE AN INCH OF A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONES LIFE. WE HAVE SUCCEEDED IN MY BOOK

SWOOSH0018 VISITS THE FOREST TOWN SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Last month the Swoosh0018 Charity Foundation assisted the Forest Town Children's School for Special Needs. It was indeed a special experience as we were greeted with smiles from all the kids. All of them have Special Needs and it was time to offer some assistance and help this school. Some of the kids have Cerebral Palsy, are on wheel chairs and some of them cannot even walk.
You know in life sometimes its amazing when you see the fight, the will power and more often than not the Smiles.

What do these kids have that normal children possess.Yet they Smile and embrace you with all the love and heart. In sports someone once told me that if you have HEART and Belief you can go along way. And this place certainly proves that theory.

It was also great to see the effort that these teachers put in. They strive and sacrifice to make these children get an education. They strive to make these kids smile. And in this environment Smiles are the most important.

So Swoosh0018 will wait for a needs and wants list from this organisation and try to help them out as best as we can

Also the foundation contributed toward the purchase of a rare item that was needed by one of the kids. Here is a description of the item

"Its a head gear that is used as a keyboard aid, pencil holder for turning pages or drawing. Its an essential aid for people with limited hand use, for activities including turning pages, drawing or painting. It helps people with limited verbal communication skills to use communication boards and to point. It is also excellent for pushing in Switches. It consists of lightweight plastic bands secured by metal hardware and topped by a 19 inch long aluminium rod. Padding at the forehead is comfortable and cool"
